The Cross-Canada Project
2009, 62 min, documentary, Canada, director: Mike Beauchamp

One morning, Mike Beauchamp wakes up and decides to ride 7000 km across Canada. Using a specially designed weatherproof camera mounted to his bicycle, Mike captures a unique perspective of Canada that can only be seen by bicycle. He illustrates the struggles of a touring cyclist and explores the vastness of the Canadian landscape… all in the pursuit of “something to do.”

with Punch Like a Girl
2008, 58 min, documentary, Canada, directors: Maya Gallus, Justine Pimlott

In a gritty, inner-city gym in Toronto’s west end, a variety of women discover the limits of their physical and emotional strength by throwing themselves into the raw, male sport of boxing—from the amateur hoping for Olympic glory as a way to avoid deportation to the jazz pianist who is Canada’s oldest amateur boxer.
